Home to several colleges and universities, museums, and bodies of water, Stillwater is the perfect place to live or to visit. Here are some of the best things to see and do in Stillwater.
Even if you’re not a museum person, you might want to visit this important Stillwater landmark: the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. There are some more conventional options too, like the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art. And for football fans, you can learn about 130 years of OSU football history at the Heritage Hall Museum.
Parks and lakes
Spend a day at Boomer Lake Park in the heart of Stillwater, or drive a few minutes West to the much larger Lake McMurtry or Carl Blackwell Lake. All three are perfect for spending a day with the kids, taking the boat out, camping, and more.
Gardens and zoos
The Botanic Garden at OSU is a fantastic spot to see beautiful local flowers and other plants and even take classes. Kids will love the Lost Creek Safari, an animal park home to kangaroos, lemurs, camels, llamas, all kinds of reptiles, and much more.
If you’re looking for a kid-free activity, hang out with the college kids for the night at one of the bars. The College Bar and The Cigar Box are great hangouts, or if you want to try a wide range of local beers, hit up the Iron Monk Brewing Company.
